Outside New Haven Superior courthouse, Raymond Clark's father, Raymond Clark II, expressed sympathy to the Le family and then read from a statement: "It is with a heavy heart that I stand before you today. We will never again see Ray outside the walls of the prison. We will live out our life knowing that he is behind bars. But we are proud of Ray for taking responsibility for his actions in pleading guilty." Raymond Clark III's parents and fiancee, Jennifer Hromadka, were in the courtroom as Raymond Clark III pleaded guilty to murdering Annie Le. Clark changed his not-guilty plea in the slaying of the Yale doctoral student in September 2009 and will be sentenced to 44 years in prison on May 20.
