Paula Jones of Bloomfield submitted this photo, taken in Italy's Cinque Terre. Writes Jones, "Cinque Terre consists of 5 small villages, which cling rather precariously to cliffs overlooking the sea. There are walking paths connecting the villages - many through steeply terraced vineyards. My husband and I hiked through all fie villages in one day, from one end to the other. This shot was one of the views approaching the village of Vernazza. One of my favorite memories of our Italian trip is from this hike. We ended, tired and sweaty, in the fifth village (Monterosso) and tried to explain to a shopkeeper where we had been that day. We all used lots of gestures since she didn't speak English and we don't speak Italian - when she realized we had hiked the entire distance she exclaimed "Bravo! Bravo!" It was a satisfying end to a glorious day."
