Dave West of Burlington wrote of his submission, "Seeing Yellowstone National Park in winter has long been a fervent travel desire that was satisfied this past February. This photo was taken at the Lower Terrace near Mammoth Hot Springs. The wind momentarily cleared the mist that shrouded these hot springs, affording this colorful shot. The terraces are limestone deposits from the hot springs. The colors are algae that grow on the water warmed surfaces."
