Melanie Cilfone of Torrington submitted this photo, taken during a boat ride on Bantam Lake in Litchfield. Writes Cilfone, "My family had a reunion for my grandparents 50th anniversary, and we all went on a old-fashioned river boat ride around a lake one night. The boat captain went all around the outer edge of the lake and then came to a cove area and stopped the boat and told us we could jump off the top into the water if we wanted to. Of course all of us grandchildren could not wait for the opportunity to jump the 20 feet into the lake, so we all scrambled to the boat roof. My brother was the first brave one to go, and I was able to suspend this moment in time mid-flight over the cottages with the moon in the background. This picture always reminds me of that night and the fun that we all had plunging from the 20-feet high river boat roof."
