Lynn Archambault of Hebron submitted this photo, taken during an annual February trip to the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. Archambault writes, "Thirty-one years ago I travelled to Europe with two high school and one college girlfriends. The trip was meaningful and memorable in so many ways but most moving was our trip to Dachau, the concentration camp outside of Munich, Germany. Nearly 20 years later my husband and I and our two children began our annual winter vacationing at the Trapp Family Lodge. The family as you know was made famous by their flight from the horrific situations such as those at Dachau. The chapel in this picture was built by the family in a serene and beautiful location on the mountain behind their lodge. It represents the peace and religious freedom that the von Trapps sought in our country."
