Angela Karachristos of Hamden submitted this photo, taken during at trip to Thailand. Writes Karachristos, "My husband and I spent 16 days traveling Thailand for our honeymoon last October. Besides bringing home amazing memories, we happened to capture the beauty that is known as the 'Land of Smiles.' This photo is of the all white temple called Wat Rong Khun. It was built by the famous Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. He made his fortune with his art, and after he reached a certain level of success he decided to stop making a profit from him art and put all of his resources and talent into the design and construction of this temple. The reason it is all white is because to him, Buddhism symbolizes purity."
