The Trade - June 29 Yankees acquire LHP Denny Neagle, OF Mike Frank Cincinnati Reds acquire LHP Ed Yarnall, 3B Drew Henson, RHP Brian Reith, OF Jackson Melian Did it help? Neagle was acquired from the Reds for a package of prospects that included former Michigan football standout Drew Henson, who was trying to make it in baseball as a third baseman. Neagle went just 7-7 with a 5.81 ERA for the Yankees. Neagle earned the loss in Games 1 and 5 of the 2000 ALCS against the Seattle Mariners. Neagle started Game 4 of the World Series against the New York Mets and gave up two runs in 4.2 innings as the Yankees won. The following season, Neagle signed a five-year, $51 million contract with the Colorado Rockies, but played just three seasons with the Rockies.
