The Trade - July 29 Yankees acquire OF David Dellucci, P Brett Prinz, C Jon Sprowl Arizona Diamondbacks acquire OF Raul Mondesi, cash Did it help? A year after acquiring Mondesi in a deadline deal with Toronto, the Yankees dealt him for outfielder David Dellucci and a pair of prospects. Dellucci struggled mightily for the Yankees, hitting just .172 while playing mostly right field. In the offseason, Dellucci signed with the Texas Rangers. Since then he has also played for Cleveland, Philadelphia, and currently Toronto. Prinz appeared in just 28 games between 2003 and 2004 before being traded in the offseason to the Angels for catcher Wil Nieves. Mondesi hit well in Arizona, with a .302 average and eight home runs over the final part of the season, but he lasted just two more seasons in the majors after that, retiring after the 2005 campaign.
