Ball State's Jarrod Jones Named NABC First Team All-District

Bonzi Wells

Ball State sophomore forward Jarrod Jones ( Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First Team All-District 14, as selected by members of the NABC. Jones becomes the first Cardinal since Theron Smith (second team - 2002) to earn NABC All-District honors and the first BSU player to earn First Team All-District accolades since Bonzi Wells (1998).

Jones, an Honorable Mention All-MAC selection the past two seasons, led the Cardinals in scoring at 12.2 points per game and rebounding at 7.4 boards per contest. He finished the season 15th in the MAC in scoring and third in rebounding. He was the third highest scoring sophomore and the top rebounding sophomore in the MAC this season.

Jones scored in double figures in 20 of the Cardinals' 30 games this season and posted seven double-doubles. His seven double dips ranked second in the MAC this season and he has tallied 10 career double-doubles. He also finished second on the team with 34 blocked shots, which ranked fourth-best in the MAC.

The NABC District 14 consists entirely of the MAC and Jones is one of two sophomores to make the all-district team.
