Leaf Case Dismissed

A lawyer for Ryan Leaf says a fugitiveaction filed against the former NFL quarterback in Washington statehas been dismissed.

The Whatcom County prosecutor had filed an interstate fugitivecase against Leaf after he was arrested by federal Customs agentsas he crossed the border from Canada in mid-June on his way to facedrug and burglary charges in Texas.

Leaf posted bond in Bellingham, Wash., and continued on toTexas, where he pleaded not guilty to charges there, posted bondand was given permission to return to his Vancouver, BritishColumbia, home.

Leaf had been ordered to return to Bellingham for a July 16hearing, but his lawyer Jeffrey Lustick said Thursday that hearinghas been canceled.
