Lincecum in Control, Mariners Lose to Giants 6-1

The San Francisco Giants scored three runs in the 3rd inning and two runs in the 5th inning to
claim a 6-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners Sunday afternoon in Cactus League play at Scottsdale Stadium.
Starting pitcher Nate Robertson (0-1) took the loss after being charged with 4 runs on 4 hits in 3.0 innings of work. RH
Blake Beavan allowed the other 2 runs in his 2.0 innings. RH Brandon League, LH Garrett Olson and RH Chaz Roe
each had a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.
Tim Lincecum (1-0) got the win. He pitched 3.2 innings, allowing 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7.
The Mariners were outhit just 7-6 by the Giants, but the Giants used a pair of doubles and a 2-RBI triple for most of their
damage. Ryan Langerhans started in centerfield and was 2-for-3 with a double and the club’s lone RBI.
The Mariners (3-4-1) continue Cactus League play tomorrow (Monday, March 7) at 12:05 PT/1:05 MT against division
rival Oakland Athletics at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Right-handed pitcher, and reigning AL Cy Young Champion, Felix
Hernandez (0-0, 0.00) is scheduled to start for the Mariners against A’s right-hander Guillermo Moscoso.
