Washington will play Baylor in the 2011 Valero Alamo Bowl, at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Dec. 29.

Kickoff is 8:00 p.m. CT/6:00 p.m. PT and the game will air on ESPN, with Dave Pasch, Chris Spielman and Quint Kessenich on the call.

The game will also air on the Washington IMG Radio Network, with flagship KJR (950 AM and 102.9 FM) and affiliates, as well as nationally on ESPN Radio.

Washington and Baylor have faced one another four times in their histories, with Baylor having won three of the four. The Bears won regular-season games in Waco, Texas, in 1954 and 1965 and another in Seattle in 1955 while Washington's win in the series came in 1964 at Husky Stadium. They've never met in a bowl game.

This is Washington's first appearance in the Valero Alamo Bowl and 32nd all-time bowl game. The Huskies have previously played bowl games in the state of Texas on four occasions, having appeared in the Sun Bowl in 1979, 1986, 1995 and 2002. The Huskies are 16-14-1 all-time in bowl games.

Coach Steve Sarkisian said: "We're excited to play in the Valero Alamo Bowl and to represent the University of Washington and the Pac-12 Conference. The selection is a testament to the hard work our team has put in, and we look forward to a great trip and exciting game."

Quarterback Keith Price said: "It's a big honor for us to be selected for this game. It's a great reward for the team and we're looking forward to the opportunity to play."

Linebacker Cort Dennison said: "As a team, we're very excited and honored to get to play in such a great bowl game. A lot of our hard work has paid off, but we realize that we have a big challenge in front of us. We're excited to go out and compete and represent our university."
