Mariners lose second straight to Angels

The Mariners were unable to figure out Angels starter Jared Weaver, who pitched a complete-game shutout and struck out six batters, in a 4-0 loss at Safeco Field.

Despite dropping tonight’s contest, the Mariners have still won 3 of their last 7, 17 of 27 and 18 of last 29 games…26-
19 over last 44 games…still have a winning record at home (18-17) and in night games (26-22).
• After allowing 4 runs in the first inning, Fister retired 7 in a row (1st-3rd) and faced just two batters over the minimum
between the 2nd and 7th innings.
• Fister has lost each of his last three starts and 5 of his last 6 decisions
• Fister has tossed at least 7.0 innings in 5 of his last 6 starts (dating back to 5/13 @ CLE).
• In Fister’s past 3 starts, all runs he has allowed have been in a single inning (4 runs allowed in 5th inning 6/9 @ DET;
3 runs allowed in 2nd inning 6/4 @ TB)…all 3 outcomes have resulted in losses for the Mariners.
