Robots get bendy

Researchers at Harvard University created a new kind of robot that features a soft, flexible skin and body and moves like an earthworm
Like a worm, the multigait soft robot is able to wiggle its way through gravel and mud.
"The unique ability for soft robots to deform allows them to go places that traditional rigid-body robots cannot," MIT roboticist Matthew Walter said.
Though the creature¿s true purpose is yet to be specifically determined, it was created thanks to funding from the Pentagon.
