CNN and Ashton Kutcher have been the top two twitter accounts for a while. No one really payed attention to that - untill last week, when ashton kutcher dared CNN with this video.
In the video, Kutcher says he'll punk CNN's Ted Turner if he beats them to 1 million followers. The Twitter fight became official when CNN's Larry King responded, saying he might do a show on the challenge.
So, kutcher upped the ante by offering his 1 millionth follower the popular game Guitar Hero. He also tweeted he'd buy 10,000 bed nets to help fight malaria in third world countries.
After that, game maker Electronic Arts stepped into the fight as well. They tweeted if Kutcher beats CNN, they will put his 1 millionth follower in a future EA game.
And then, it was revealed that CNN apparently didn't even own the twitter account, so they officially acquired it from the guy who did.
And now, apparently Ted Turner says he ready to give the race over to Kutcher, if he comes through on his promise to donate the bed nets to fight malaria.
Even though Ashton Kutcher is still in the race for 1 million followers on twitter, today, he did reach the landmark on his Facebook fan page.
