Police in Sanger are confirming that country singer Randy Travis was arrested early this morning.
According to police, shortly after midnight Monday an officer saw a vehicle parked in front of the First Baptist Church of Sanger and stopped to investigate. The officer reportedly smelled alcohol and saw an open wine bottle.
Travis was arrested and brought to jail for four hours, as the law allows for public intoxication. He was booked at 1:31 am, cited for public intoxication -- a Class C misdemeanor, and released from the Denton County Jail at 7:44 am when his ride arrived at the jail.
