Josh Hamilton was open, honest and heartfelt. There's really no other way around it. Honest. What we always want athletes and celebrities to be. He was that and more today

The Rangers have done a lot for me, but I've got a question for ya'll: Have I done a lot for the Rangers? I think I've given them everything I've had," said Hamilton, who will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Yea he's done more than anyone would ever want from their superstar. The 2010 A.L. MVP suffered a recent relapse with alcohol that has caused quite a stir. The Rangers have been by his side since trading for him in 2008. An accountability partner was hired by the club to keep Josh, well, accountable in his times of weakness. But don't think he is forever indebted to the two time defending A.L. Champions.

I'm not going to sit here and say that I owe the Rangers. I don't feel like I owe the Rangers."

Hamilton is talking about his contract talks that were tabled after his relapse three weeks ago.

Could this be the end of Hamilton as a Texas Ranger?

More than likely yes, however he summed it up best at his press conference as he sit alone, sharing from the heart.

“I hate that this happened," Hamilton said of his two known alcohol relapses. "They knew the risks from the time they took me in ’08. I’ve done a lot of good here, and they’ve been good to me too. There’s always ways to work things out.

Facebook | Twitter   Alrighty so I made it to Surprise in one piece, however I cannot say the same for my camera. Once I got to the complex in Surprise I was in awe at the amount of Japanese media there for YuMania, the Rangers prized free agent signing in the off season. This is going to be a great couple of days. Pitchers and catchers had their first workout as a group and of course everyone was excited to see what Darvish did..which really wasn't much...Kind of a tease, however the most interesting thing I witnessed was his ability to throw both right and left handed. He is a righty during games, but says he throws with both hands during training to help with his balance..I, like the majority of you probably don't care what he does in training as long as it translates to wins at the ballpark. Keep checking in with us here on the Rangers Spring Trainingblog. There will be LOTS to get to over the next week or so while we are here.

Facebook | Twitter   YUMANIA!!!! It's out of control. Today was all about Yu! Not you, but Yu Darvish. The Japanese import went through his first official workout as a member of the Texas Rangers today and boy was it over blown. Darvish went through a five minute bullpen session and then threw 19 pitches to live batting. I have to admit his throwing motion looks very smooth and natural. He threw at about 80% of what he can do and AAA pitching coach Terry Clark said he was able to move the ball well at an 80% clip and that's really good. I'll take his word for it.   All in all I was very impressed with the way he has carried himself and interacted with the American players on the Rangers.   Derek Holland has latched onto Yu and says they will remain throwing partners throughout spring training. Josh Hamilton reported to camp today, but did not meet with the media. He did say he will speak tomorrow afternoon. I'm sure it will be an interesting press conference to say the least. Check out the YuMania tonight at 9:50 on CW 33.
