A college student from Dallas died after he fell from a parking garage on the Texas Tech University campus.

Lubbock police believe Mason Vanstory, 19,  fell from one of the top levels of the Red Raider Parking Garage. He was discovered at approximately 5:30 a.m. Sunday by a passerby.

Vanstory was a sophomore Mass Communications/Criminology major at Tech, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He graduated from John Paul II High School in Dallas in 2010.

Police are still unclear how the young man fell from the garage. He is last known to have spent Saturday with his family for parent's weekend, and Saturday night tailgating for the school football game. A friend later dropped Vanstory off at his apartment building. However, it is unknown how the student ended up on the roof.

Vanstory's  funeral will be Saturday at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral home in Dallas. Texas Tech students also honored his memory by holding a memorial on campus Tuesday.
