The Los Angeles County district attorney's office declined to file charges Thursday against former USC quarterback Mitch Mustain, 22, who was arrested on suspicion of selling prescription narcotics, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The former University of Southern California quarterback and Springdale, Ark., native was arrested Tuesday evening on suspicion of a felony for allegedly selling Adderall, an amphetamine, to an undercover officer, according to the LA Times report.
But county prosecutors said they would not move forward with a felony prosecution because the substance sold to the undercover officer was "lisdexamfetamine dimesylate," which is not listed as a controlled substance.
Mustain played at Arkansas briefly before transferring to USC. He graduated from Springdale in 2006 and was part of the Bulldog's 2005 state championship team coached by current Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn.
