Kyle Lowry pleads no contest in Vegas

Kyle Lowry2011 NBA LockoutHouston Rockets

Houston Rockets guard Kyle Lowry learned the hard way that he can’t throw his balls at a referee. Especially In-Fini Robinson, a former college player and Las Vegas police officer.

Here’s what is supposed to have happened back in September, after a game in Las Vegas during the NBA lockout. Lowry was upset with Robinson and threw a basketball at her, hitting her in the chest. She threw it back. That’s when Lowry apparently threatened to meet her outside and kick her ass.

Lowry apologized, but the damage was done. He has now pleaded 'no contest' and will have to do a total of 100 hours of community service at women’s shelter as well as impulse-control counseling.

Hey, it could have been worse. He was looking at a thousand bucks and six months in the county pokey where it’s always a good thing to keep your balls to yourself.
