Lacoste, the preferred brand of discerning mass murderers.
No, that`s not Lacoste`s new slogan, but the French company`s afraid that will become the brand`s image if the accused homicidal lunatic in Norway doesn`t stop wearing their shirts.
Lacoste`s alligator logo-stamped short-sleeve polo shirt has for decades defined preppy hood, yuppie hood, if not the hood and is apparently the label of choice for Anders Breivik.
He`s the guy who admitted to killing 77 people in a shooting spree and bombing in July.
And he's a killer with style.
He insists on wearing a red Lacoste sweater whenever he leaves prison.
He even mentioned the brand in his manifesto writing that ‘refined people like him should wear brands like Lacoste.'
London's The Telegraph reports that Lacoste has called Breivik’s love of the label a PR nightmare and have asked Oslo police to stop the terrorist from wearing their clothes.
Shouldn't he be wearing prison stripes anyway?
No word yet on whether Norway will accommodate this request or whether Brooks Brothers is preparing a contingency plan.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
