Olympic Gymnasts Endorsements

Missy Franklin

Olympians get attention for what they can do. But one US swimmer's in the lime light because of what she won't do.

17-year old Missy Franklin is passing up the green that comes with Olympic gold. She says she's skipping out on endorsement deals. Instead, missy's opting go to college after finishing her senior year of high school in Aurora, Colorado.

She's already turned down $100,000 in prize money. Some have estimated she'll lose out on millions of dollars in endorsements.

But that's not the case with 16-year old Gabby Douglas. She's cashing in on her success, putting her mug on a special edition box of Corn Flakes.

Gabby's also signed on with P&G, the mega manufacturer for Olay, Pantene, and CoverGirl Cosmetics, just to name a few.

There's no wrong answer here.

Both girls have worked hard for their success, making these words all the more true: it's not whether you win or lose, or cash in, for that matter. It's how you play the game.
