Ever spent a day without hearing a sound? Many Americans do and a determined group of students from University of Houston has created a device called 'my voice'.
Hoping to make it available within a year, it will read American Sign Language and will talk to the hearing community on behalf of the deaf. It also hears and interprets what is said back to the deaf. It's the size of a cellphone and has a goal of helping eliminate some of the stress that comes along with being deaf.
Pretty gosh darn cool.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
