National League wins 2012 All-Star Game

KANSAS CITY, MO - Former Royal Melky Cabrera turned out to be the MVP, but it was the entire National League squad who dominated as the Senior Circuit took the 2012 MLB All-Star Game 8-0 over the American League Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium.

The St. Louis Cardinals were well represented with 5 players, while Lance Lynn did not see action in his All-Star debut.

Rafael Furcaland Holliday teamed each recorded hits, including a triple from Furcal, later scoring on a Holliday pinch-hit single.

"That's one thing about us Cardinals, it's fresh in our minds that this game really does matter," Holliday said, speaking to the significance of pulling out a win. "It may not seem like a big deal right now, but it can mean something."

The 2013 All-Star Game is at New York's Citi Field.
