San Diego State University's football team made history Sunday after being selected to make back-to-back postseason bowl game appearances, the school announced.
For the first time in the program's Division I history, the Aztecs (8-4) football team accepted an invitation to play in a bowl game for the second consecutive year.
The Aztecs will play in the R+L Carries New Orleans Bowl against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on Saturday, December 17 at 6 p.m.
The game will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La., and will be televised on ESPN.
SDSU defeated Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium last year. It was the first bowl victory for the team since 1969.
