Slasher wore 'SpongeBob' shirt

SAN DIEGO - A man in the City Heights area was attacked by another wielding a box cutter and wearing a "SpongeBob SquarePants" shirt, San Diego police said Sunday.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, the victim got into an argument with the suspect at 4406 Menlo Avenue. The suspect then pulled out a box cutter and slashed the victim several times in the face and head, Sgt. Todd Sluss said. The suspect fled on foot and the victim's cuts were treated at a local hospital.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet-7 inches tall, 170 lbs, and wearing a black sleeveless shirt with a "SpongeBob SquarePants" design on it, Sluss said.

The Mid City Division is handling the investigation.
