Man Accused of Bludgeoning Neighbor's Chihuahua

RENO, Nev. - A Reno man is facing cruelty to animals andother charges for allegedly bludgeoning a neighbor's Chihuahua todeath.

Police say 44-year-old David Wells is accused of removingseveral wooden slats from a neighbor's patio fence and killing thedog Sunday night.

Investigators say Wells denied harming the small dog, but he wasarrested after blood evidence and witnesses statements contradictedhis story.

He also was booked on suspicion of trespassing and destructionof property.
