LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Britney Spears' new fiance and former agent Jason Trawick could soon be taking over the star's affairs.

TMZ reported Friday that Britney's current conservator, her father Jaime Spears, filed a petition to add Trawick, 40, as a co-conservator.

The couple became engaged shortly after the singer's 30th birthday in December 2011 and are reportedly moving in together ahead of their scheduled summer wedding.

Sources say her dad is "thrilled about it."

Jaime Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet currently have permanent conservatorship powers over the entertainer's money and business affairs.

It has been in place since February 2008 after the singer had several public breakdowns and was hospitalized for psychiatric treatment.
