NEW YORK (KTLA) -- Police have arrested 3 men in connection with a sophisticated marijuana farm operating inside a 5-story building in the Bronx.
Inside the Morris Park Ave. building, investigators found 593 plants - some of which stood 7 feet high.
They also uncovered 75 pounds (34 kilograms) of cut and dried marijuana packaged in plastic.
"It was estimated that 50 to 60 lbs per month were being produced with a value of approximately $250,000. It was conservatively estimated that $3 million was sold over the past year," according to a police statement.
Investigators say the building included a drying room, air and water filtration systems, ventilation pipes and heat lamps.
Victor Reyes, 23; Brian Munoz, 24; and Diego Reyes, 25, all of the Bronx, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of marijuana and two counts of use of drug paraphernalia.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
