Gayle Anderson was live in Long Beach for a preview of "MASQUERADE ON THE WATER" event, Saturday, November 3rd for Kierrah Events, the production arm of the Kierrah Foundation. "MASQUERADE ON THE WATER," is a masquerade ball, featuring extravagant costumes, imaginative masks, as well as fun and games. This event is aboard the Queen Mary, the historic landmark that was once the grandest ocean liner in the world. The event will include red carpet arrivals, a VIP cocktail reception, a Fantasy Feast gala dinner, live entertainment, and a silent auction. The masquerade begins at 6:30 p.m. After, attend the Mystique After Party at 10:00 p.m. Costumes and/or semi-formal attire with masks are required.
The evening will include a fashion show by Kevin James, whose colorful, creative, and visually-stunning fashions have adorned many high-profile celebrities, most notably, The Jacksons, Slash and Leeza Gibbons. Since 1980, Mr. James has designed new looks for any season, although special occasion and events are his specialty. He was nominated for a 2010 NAACP Award for best costumes in a play, "Bonita and Billie," a stage play about the life of Billie Holiday.
Featured entertainment includes youth performers, Nu Skool Sings Old School, a concert series which showcases a troupe of talented youngsters ages six to 17, who love and croon classic jazz, R&B, and American standards; singer/songwriter, Brenda Lee Eager, best known for her role in the musical, "Wild Women Blues"; jazz and fusion keyboardist, Mitchel Forman, serves as musical director for the evening; as well as singer/dancer, Leo Gallo.
Eight members of the San Diego Chargers have confirmed their attendance. A Chargers package is available for $500, which includes dinner and photos with Chargers players, an overnight stay aboard the Queen Mary and passes to ship tours and attractions, including the Princess Diana exhibit.
A portion of the proceeds from "MAQUERADE ON THE WATER" benefits the Kierrah Foundation, a multilevel support system for young women who age out of the foster care system without family or friends. The Kierrah Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides material, intellectual, and emtional support through customized life plans and wrap-around services designed to meet the specific needs of these young women as they transition into adulthood. Additionally, the event benefits 11-year-old Nu Skool Sings Old School star performer, Mahkenna, who will compete for the Face of Europe "Miss Charity" competition in Disneyland Paris.
