Fmr. Dodger Milton Bradley Swung Bat at Wife, Police Say

Milton Bradley

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KTLA) -- Former Los Angeles Dodger Milton Bradley has been arrested for investigation of felony battery on his wife..

Police say the incident began as a verbal argument at the couple's San Fernando Valley home.

The argument became physical when Bradley took out a baseball bat and began swinging it at his wife, who called 911, police say.

Bradley then got into his car and drove off before police arrived.

He was later tracked down and arrested without incident.

His wife was not hurt.

Bradley was released on $30,000 bail.

He is due back in court Oct. 18.

Bradley was arrested back in January on suspicion of making threats against his wife.

No charges were ever filed.

Bradley has a history of anger-management issues on and off the baseball field.

The Dodgers traded him to Oakland in 2005 after he threw a water bottle at fans and he had a clubhouse run-in with a reporter.

In November 2004, he was arrested after allegedly confronting a police officer during a traffic stop in Ohio.
