Liberté Chan is excited to be back reporting at KTLA 5 after getting her start at the station in 2003. She worked under the late Hal Fishman, a legend in LA news. She worked as a writer for his one-hour news show KTLA's News at Ten.

Liberté then worked on the Central Coast reporting in Santa Barbara County for KCOY/KKFX. She was recognized by California Governor Jerry Brown for outstanding reporting in a series of pieces on the Santa Barbara County Probation Department. Liberté was then hired as the weekday morning news anchor in Palm Springs (KMIR6).

Liberté has a Masters in Public Health from USC, as well as a certification in broadcast journalism from UCLA and a BA degree in journalism from UMass Amherst. She graduated early from college, studying at the Sorbonne in Paris.

Liberté was born and raised in Los Angeles and grew up as a competitive figure skater and was nationally ranked in both singles and pairs. She enjoys spending time with her dogs, hiking and taking them to area dog parks. She is a self-proclaimed exercise addict and spends at least 6 days a week spinning or practicing yoga.
