Plane Clips Wing of Another Aircraft at LAX

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- A small plane bound for Palm Springs hit a snag when it bumped into another plane before take off.

The Skywest plane was backing out the gate around 8:15 p.m. on Friday when it hit a parked Skywest aircraft with it's left wing, according to FAA spokesman Ian Gregor.

There were 26 people and three crew on board flight 6310, which was bound for Palm Springs. No injuries were reported.

The plane was a Embraer E120, a small propeller-type aircraft used for short distance travel.

Officials are still assessing the damage.

The incident happened in a ramp area and the plane was not being directed by air traffic controllers, Gregor said.
