POMONA -- Authorities are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a 17 year old girl as she walked home in Pomona.

17 year old Kassandra Jacobo was walking with a male friend in the area of Olive and Glenroy streets around 11 p.m. Tuesday when one or more assailants approached them, said Pomona police Sgt. Robert Baker.

Jacobol was fatally wounded. Her friend was not hurt.

No further details were immediately released.

A motive in the shooting is under investigation.
