TUSTIN -- Former mixed martial arts fighter Kimo Leopoldo is under arrest on drug and theft charges.

Two detectives spotted the 6-foot-3, 235-pound athlete wearing a Long Beach Police Department jumpsuit in the parking lot of a shopping center at Irvine Boulevard and Jamboree Road, said Tustin police Sgt. Jeff Blair.

Blair said Leopoldo gave the officers conflicting statements about where he had gotten the jumpsuit.

When officers searched his car, they found a glass pipe and a small amount of meth, according to Blair.

Leopoldo was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and having stolen property.

Leopoldo fought Royce Gracie at UFC 3, but hasn't been in the organization since 2004. His most recent mixed martial arts bout was in 2006.
