Fans who attended the Kings Of Leon performance at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater Friday night started getting refunds Monday. The Grammy award winning group walked off stage complaining about pigeon droppings. It seems like the pigeons canceling the concert is the talk of the town, and the talk of Twitter. Even band members are Tweeting about how disgusting and unhealthy the situation was. They say they didn't want to disappoint their fans, but felt they had no choice in the matter.

It wasn't searing heat, but rather pooping pigeons, that made the Kings Of Leon cancel Friday night's performance at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

Jennifer Elston was there, "They played about three songs after we waited in the heat for a long time."

Burning hot fans say they had no idea there was a problem with pigeons. Elston says, "All they told us was they were leaving for their safety. They didn't say anything about health or sanitation or pigeon crap."

"It was a lot of chaos. People were throwing trash cans over and beer bottles. I think we were frustrated because they didn't know why," says Amanda Wingertsahn who was also there, "We were chanting profanities and yelling and stuff because we were upset about it, but there weren't any riots or fights or anything like that."

According to the group's manager, bass player Michael Jared was hit several times during the first two songs.

The Kings called it quits after the third tune, when Jared was hit on the cheek by flying poo and some of it landed near his mouth.

Disgusted fans say something should be done about the health hazard, but not all are ready to forgive the band.

"I think they should get this taken care of. I know the Kings are not, they're probably not going to come back. I don't blame them," reflected Elston.

Wingertsahn was not as forgiving, "I think they risk losing a lot of fans by stopping for the reason that they're posting they stopped, because of pigeons. You're a rock star. You get paid lots of money. Sometimes you have to deal with things you don't want to."

Most fans at the box office Monday took it in stride, especially since they were issued a refund after the poop performance.

The Kings Of Leon apologized to fans and vow to return to St. Louis.

The concert promoter declined to comment about the pigeon problem.
