Cars Land Opens in Disneyland's California Adventure Park

Cars Land opens at Disney's California Adventure Park Friday, and FOX40 got a sneak peek.

It's the latest addition to the Disney brand.

When Disneyland first opened in 1955, it debuted with Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Walt Disney always dreamed of bringing a piece of his favorite vacation spot, New Orleans, to Disneyland. The same year Disney died, in 1966, New Orleans Square became a reality.

Critter Country opened in 1972. It was followed by Mickey's Toontown in 1993.

One of the biggest changes for Disney was the California Adventure theme park, which opened near Disneyland in 2001.

Cars Land is the latest "land" to be added to that park.

“This is the most amazing thing I think we’ve ever done,” said Pixar’s Chris Goddard.

Along with bringing Radiator Springs to life, Cars Land also features food, merchandise, and of course rides. There are rides like Tow Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, where you get whipped around, and Radiator Springs Racers, a road race which pits car against car.

Sabrina Rodriguez was able to be one of the first allowed in Cars Land, watch her sneak peek here.
