Juggling Life, Work and the Mob; FOX's New Show Strikes a Balance

Jordana Spiro

The brand new FOX show “The Mob Doctor” is about more than a talented surgeon who does side jobs for the mob.

“The show is really about this transformation of this person,” explained Jordana Spiro who plays Dr. Grace Devlin, “Clawing her way out of this background to embracing it in some way.”

According to Spiro her character ends up working for the mob to erase the debt her brother owes, which means Devlin has to juggle two worlds.

Spiro said as an actress it’s a fun role to play, “Allows you to access different sides of who you think that character is when you’re around this group of people versus this group of people.”

And there are a few different groups; her job, her family, and her boyfriend, Dr. Brett Robinson who is played by Zach Gilford.

The show is about more than romance; even though she despises the mob, Devlin has a special relationship with the man in charge of it, Constantine Alexander.

Spiro said that along with many other dramatic scenarios will make The Mob Doctor an exciting show with lots of twists.
