The tenants living inside the evacuated apartments were able to return home after the standoff.
These residents are happy to be allowed back into their Arden Towne Apartments.
For nearly 56 hours, families were left waiting until SWAT officers finally took down the suspect, Anthony Alvarez and saved 16-month old, Michael Pittman Jr.
Desarey Clem said, "I had to stay with family and friends. I had to spend money to eat out because I couldn't cook in their kitchens."
The standoff was a huge inconvenince for these people who couldn't wait for their lives to get back to normal.
Apartment managers said they hope potential tenants are not turned off by what happened.
"It's not good. People will think it's ghetto, but it's not. It's usually pretty quiet here," Sarah Jimenez said.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
