The Backstretch Blog: Countdown to the Season- Number 3 Matt Kenseth

Is there a driver in the garage area that is so quiet and yet so consistent? Kenseth is a beast, and yet he gets a lot less attention than lesser drivers.

Kenseth had made every chase since it started in 2004, save one. And the chase was created because he won the Championship in 2003 with only win. Just shows how good a driver he is. No matter what the rules Kenseth has shown he is a player.

2013 will be a season of change for Matt, as he makes the move from Roush-Fenway Racing to Joe Gibbs Racing. Be he feels like this a great time to make a big move. That's because with the new Generation Six race car, everyone is basically in a new car.

"In a way it is easier because everyone has an open mind," said Kenseth. "Everyone is kind of starting over so if something worked last year, it's not working now. I mean it's a whole different car. So I think it's a good time to make a change if you are going to make one."
