Merril Teller has been Chief Meteorologist at KWCH since September, 1981.

Merril began his broadcasting career doing weather reports and forecasts on the student radio station at his alma mater, Rutgers University.

Next came more radio forecasting at the University of Oklahoma where he was a graduate meteorology student. While attending OU, Merril did part time meteorology work for a private weather company in Oklahoma City. That job included forecasting for many different industries, government bodies, radio and television stations.  It also led to his first work in television weathercasting.

After Oklahoma City, Merril spent 2 ½ years as chief meteorologist at KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1976, Merril was awarded the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters award for Best Weathercast in a small market. From Wichita Falls it was back to OKC working both in private weather and on television. Merril continued his journey northward taking the job at what was then KTVH and is now, of course, KWCH. For his large body of work, Merril was inducted into the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2008.

Merril has been married since 1976 and has a son who is a commercial pilot. In his spare time he enjoys bowling, refereeing youth soccer and watching sports both in person and on television.
