For those who are not big time fans, it's the shortest off-season in sports. For the rest of us, it's the longest two months of our lives. But this week is sort of the unofficial star back of the NASCAR season.
Sure cars were on the track two weeks ago for preseason testing at Daytona and last week at Charlotte. But this week...this week is NASCAR Media Week.
Wait what is NASCAR Media Week you ask? Think Super Bowl Media day, if all 32 teams were there. Over the next four days, I and about 200 of my closet (and not so close) media friends, will visit ever major team that races on the NASCAR Sprint Cup series, some of the not so major teams and even some Nationwide and Truck series teams.
Basically, everything yon need to take care of that NASCAR withdrawal that set in shortly after the tryptophan wore off Thanksgiving day.
Even if you are not a hardcore NASCAR fan, if you are just a sports fan, you are gonna want to follow along as I give you a behind the look at drivers and race shops this week. It's gonna be fun!
You can follow along on the tour here on the Backstretch Blog or catch nightly reports on KWCH 12 Eyewitness News at 10 o'clock. You can also follow along via social media; on Twitter I'm hwilliams_12 or on facebook Heather Williams (it's a popular name so you might want to put "KWCH" in the search bar if you are not already following.)
