Red Carpet Green Dress campaign launches new collection with party

In celebration of earth-friendly fashion, Suzy Amis Cameron hosted her sixth annual Red Carpet Green Dress party, sponsored by Audi and upscale eco e-boutique luxandeco.com, at the Chateau Marmont on Thursday.

Guests at the pre-Oscars event included director James Cameron (Amis Cameron’s husband); actor Eric Olsen; actress Maggie Grace with new fiancé Matthew Cooke; “The Artist” actress Missi Pyle, who wore a Red Carpet Green Dress gown to the Oscars in 2012; and “American Sniper’s” Jake McDorman, who wore this year’s winning tuxedo to the 87th Academy Awards on Sunday.

Tingting Chen, a fashion student at ESMOD-ISEM in Paris, created the winning tuxedo design, and it was made from eco-friendly fabrics including deadstock wool and silk.

Fellow ESMOD-ISEM student Manon Gabard designed the eco-friendly silk gown worn to the Oscars by “Jane The Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez.

At the party, models debuted the “No Red Carpet Needed” collection of eco-friendly dresses created with local sustainable fashion brand Reformation and inspired by previous Red Carpet Green Dress Oscar gowns. The dresses ($68-$328) are available at the Reformation boutique in West Hollywood and at thereformation.com.

Twenty-five percent of sales are to be donated to Muse School CA, a nonprofit educational organization co-founded in 2006 by Amis Cameron and her sister Rebecca Amis.

“My dream is to create a better world and a cleaner planet for our children to grow up in and to raise their families into, and Red Carpet Green Dress has helped with that,” Amis Cameron said, speaking at the event.
