'Moneyball'

The 1976 winner "Rocky" symbolized the triumph of the little guy so thoroughly it became a Hollywood trope. Nary a year goes by without at least one movie heralding a downtrodden hero who fights to overcome tremendous odds ¿ and more often than not, it's a sports movie. "Moneyball's" Billy Beane is this year's Rocky Balboa, chasing down baseball stats instead of chickens. Ultimately, the odds work in favor of both men, even if the big win may elude them.
