First look at Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady from ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ sequel

After butchering the origin story of classic cartoon villain Shredder in the live-action “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie, the turtles are back for a sequel. But this time they’re not mucking about with the Turtles back story. They’re giving diehards exactly what they want in the form of Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady.

The omission of Shredder’s lackey characters Bebop and Rocksteady from the last “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie was, frankly, bewildering. How could the studio go to all the trouble of making four gargantuan, computer-generated turtles and omit the warthog and rhinoceros mutants?

But the sequel “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” is doubling down on the crazy. The new Super Bowl trailer debuted two gigantic mutated bad boys, Bebop the warthog and Rocksteady the rhino (complete with appropriate tiny leather vest, goggles and purple mohawk stylings).

This is some Grade A fan service, and we’re not complaining.

But wait, there’s more. On top of the cast additions of Rocksteady, Bebop, an already announced Casey Jones (played by “Arrow’s” Stephen Amell), we also got Krang.

Krang, the banished warlord from Dimension X, was another big trailer reveal. Reduced to the size of a small, pink blob, the angry super-villain lives inside the torso of a half-naked robot wearing a visor, and is hellbent on world domination.

We only got a tiny sneak peek of the bad guy, but we did get a great look at his ridiculous suit.

Congratulations, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.” You just gave us a reason to pay attention.
