A batch of new television shows, including "Prime Suspect," "Free Agents" and "The Playboy Club" have gotten the ax, and at midseason several more favorites seemed likely to go the way of "Arrested Development" and "Firefly." Most notable among them is perhaps "Community," a quirky comedy, now in its third season, starring Joel McHale, Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, Danny Pudi and more as community college students. NBC benched "Community" at midseason to make room for new shows, but it's possible that the full season will air in its entirety at some point. "Community" has suffered from subpar ratings, in part because the show's loyal audience often tunes in online instead of on TV. Regardless, ratings will have to improve dramatically if there is to be a Season 4.
