A major Hollywood opening wouldn’t be complete without a trailer. Accordingly, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled a lively one Thursday to promote its upcoming “Hollywood Costume” exhibition, along with some new programming.

Presented by London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, the exhibition explores the role of costume design in storytelling, and will include more than 145 garments from films across Hollywood eras including “The Hunger Games,” “Django Unchained,” “The Seven Year Itch,” “Funny Girl” and “The Wizard of Oz.”

In conjunction with “Hollywood Costume,” the academy will hold a series of discussions about the collaboration between costume designers and directors, featuring Mary Zophres on Ethan and Joel Coen, Mark Bridges on Paul Thomas Anderson, Marilyn Vance on John Hughes, Jeffrey Kurland on Woody Allen, and Deborah Nadoolman Landis on John Landis.
