The ghost: These ghosts are showcased more as jarring alcoholic hallucinations in the form of fire fighter cousin Jimmy Keefe to dead fire victims, there's a robust line-up of sarcastic, short-tempered and sometimes scary spirits from Tommy Gavin's the past ready to show up and surprise you at a moments notice. Boo who?: Anytime New york firefighter Tommy Gavin (Dennis Leary) is alone, drunk or asleep, he's liable to be haunted by someone from his family tree. As the show's central character, he was the only one that could see or touch any of the ghosts. However, that also meant they were able to touch him, slap him, throw him into walls nag him about his life choices.
