“Mad Men” is coming to an end next year, but at least one cast member already has her post-’60s plans set. Christina Hendricks is joining the cast of “Roadies,” the Showtime pilot to be directed by Cameron Crowe.

Hendricks, who played Joan, the former-power-secretary-turned-partner at Sterling Cooper, will be transitioning into another command role as Shelli, the production manager of the red-hot touring band of the series. She’s partnered with Luke Wilson, who plays Bill, another member of the band’s behind-the-scenes crew.

The pilot takes a unique tack by pushing the rock stars into the background and bringing their crew to the front. Crowe, who spent his formative years as a teen reporter for Rolling Stone, knows a thing or two about life on the road with the band. Those experiences were fictionalized for his 2000 movie “Almost Famous.”

Other cast members already announced include Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Peter Cambor and Keisha Castle-Hughes.

Crowe will direct and executive produce the series alongside “My So-Called Life” creator Winnie Holzman, who is writing the script, and J.J. Abrams.

The pilot will shoot in Vancouver in early 2015, with an eye on full series pickup sometime after that. In the meantime, Hendricks’ final episodes of “Mad Men” will begin airing on AMC in the spring.
