Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara reunite for comedy series on Pop

Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara are reuniting on screen once again in “Schitt’s Creek,” the first scripted comedy on the rebranded pop culture channel, Pop (formerly TVGN, formerly TV Guide Network).

The series, which will be part of the channel’s relaunch in early 2015, was created by Levy and his son, Daniel. It stars Levy as a once-wealthy video store mogul whose fortunes evaporate and is forced to relocate to the town of Schitt’s Creek, a place he once bought with his fortune as a joke. O’Hara plays his soap star wife, and Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy play the couple’s children. Chris Elliott also stars as the town’s mayor.

Levy and O’Hara are best known from their time on the sketch comedy classic “SCTV,” but they also paired in Christopher Guest’s documentary-style movies “Waiting for Guffman,” “Best in Show,” “A Mighty Wind” and “For Your Consideration.”

In a statement, Brad Schwartz, Pop’s president of entertainment and media said, “This show answers the question — what would the Kardashians do if they woke up one day, completely broke?”
